Mississauga reunion

We are sharing here some photos and footage of the recent get-together held by our North American-based classmates and batchmates in Mississauga, Ontario. Present were host Malu Ortiz, Mario Mercado, Josephine Urbiztondo, Antonina Avendaño, Evangeline Capulong and former Filipino teacher Miss Salome Tamayo. We gathered that another reunion is to be held at Mario’s place next year.

Thanks, Bangge, for sharing these pictures (click here to view) and Malu, for the video.

Larawang kupas

More July celebrants

Mario Mercado (July 23) and Ana Marie Joaquin (July 26) are this month’s remaining birthday celebrants. Happy birthday to both of you.

Last night a group of peps were trying to call up Mario in Canada but were not able to get through.

Malu Ortiz has promised to send us pictures of their reunion in Ontario and we will be publishing these as soon as they’re in.

As for Ana Marie, no clue yet where she is now.

Super Mario

Remy Tuazon has just had a long-distance chat with our long-lost classmate and friend Mario Mercado. Malu Ortiz’s info – courtesy of Josie Urbiztondo (IV-3) – is correct: Mario is now a resident of Canada.

So how did we locate him? We should thank another batchmate, Becca Pabustan (IV-2), for this. Upon learning we were still looking for Mario, she took the initiative in getting in touch with Mario’s wife, who happens to be a friend of hers. She then passed the couple’s contact information to Remy who, in turn, immediately called up Mario.

Mario is not into this internet thing yet so there was no way he could find us online. He did try to look for the peps when he was in the Philippines in 2005 but was disheartened to find out that eveyone had either left Tondo or gone abroad. He would like to meet up with us when he returns to Manila this December. More on him as soon as we get his first email.

Welcome back, Mar!

Yoly on Mario and Laarni

Yoly Mañalac has joined forces with Dado Dizon in the search for our US-based classmates. Here’s Yoly’s latest update:

Hi Dado,

Kamusta na? Hope you’re doing well. I got Mario’s address but not sure if this is him as there are too many Mario Mercado’s in California. But this Mario Mercado has a middle initial of “M”, and was born in 1962. I kind of remember that he is Mario M. Mercado so hopefully, we are getting to the right Mario. I know Fresno is far from where you are. But here’s his information:

4240 Harvard Avenue
Fresno, CA 93722
(559) 275-2390

I got Laarni’s information after paying a fee. It didn’t offer much information except for an incomplete address. Went through another search engine, and I got a more complete address in LA with a phone number. Tried to call but line was already disconnected. I’m sending her mail and see if I can get to her, and hopefully, she responds.

Regards na lang to your family. Sana makasama mo ulit sila soon.

Take care,

Yoly

Caroling

Yet another version of “We three kings”
