The photos we are posting here are really touching. These were taken during the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. Bernardino B. Tuazon and Mrs. Araceli G. Manalang, held middle of this year at the Merciful Redeemer Parish Church in Mississauga, Ontario.
The renewal of vows was attended by the couple’s relatives and friends, including a number of their high school classmates who were reunited after 60 years. Tatay Bernardino said in jest that his former classmates recognized him easily because he hadn’t changed a bit. He is now 80 years old and Nanay Araceli is 73.
Remy Tuazon is, of course, proud of her parents. “My father worked for Philippine National Railways for 45 years. Kaya alam na alam niya ang buhay-riles. He is hardworking, kind, intelligent, and always ready to help other people.”
Remy continues: “My mother, on the other hand, was a dressmaker. She’s also hardworking and I remember how she really attended to us, her children, when we were young. Because we only had one set of uniform each that time, she would see to it that we were neat, para daw hindi halatang mahirap.”
The golden couple has been living in Canada for years, with daughter Lourdes and her family (see below):
We would like to congratulate them on this milestone and, at the same time, thank them for bringing into this world, on September 7, 1961, our wonderful classmate, Remy.
