Happy 2009!

Pearly arrives today

Our friend Pearly Jaramilla is due to arrive today, December 29, from Japan to spend New Year in the Philippines. She will go straight to Bay, Laguna, to be with her daughter and son, Kay and Lloyd. Welcome home, Pearly!

Dado Dizon, meanwhile, has safely returned to Los Angeles, California, and would like to thank everyone for the grand time he had with the peps, particularly the last Christmas party held on December 23. (Could anyone please send the photos taken during this party?)

X’mas party

Our Christmas party is set for December 23, from 6:30 p.m., at the Spring Deer Seafood Restaurant along Timog Ave., corner Scout Tobias St., Quezon City. The event is also the occasion to formally welcome our newly-arrived classmate Dado Dizon. Don’t make any other appointment on this day. Everyone’s required to attend.

You are also requested to bring a gift worth P300 for the exchange gift.

Please get in touch with either Remy Tuazon or Keith dela Cruz for more information.

See you there!

Let it snow

This is the view from Lito Parungo’s apartment in Amsterdam. You can see that it has started snowing in Europe and he can’t help but envy his classmates in the Philippines who are still enjoying a temperature that hovers at around 30° Celcius.

Lito just wants us to vicariously feel the cold weather he and other classmates abroad face every single day during the winter season. Brrrrrr!

Being young again

So how do you make a 50-year-old guy forget, albeit temporarily, that age is catching up with him? Throw him a children’s party.

And that’s precisely what Ruby Gaviola had in mind when she concocted this surprise birthday party for hubby Noel Guevarra last December 8 at McDonalds El Pueblo in Mandaluyong.

During the impromptu program, with Mcdo’s in-house showmasters pepping up the guests to show off their talents, Jo Monte de Ramos did a split, Ana Marie performed a stand-up act (we mean that literally), and John Marcella displayed his dancing prowess.

Noel, by virtue of his being married to our classmate Ruby, is part of our extended family. In fact, his association with the peps dates back to our college years, when his love affair with Ruby was still in its “gestation” period.

After watching this video, please don’t think that the peps are already having their second childhood. They just miss being young again.
