Cagayan de Oro City by night
After staying in Taiwan for a short job assignment, our friend Larry Ramos is back in his temporary base in Mindanao. Below is an email we just received from him:
Si Malu Ortiz ba ‘yang huling nakita? I am glad natagpuan na rin siya. Ang galing-galing nyo talaga. Sorry if can’t contribute at the moment. I’m back here in El Salvador, Cagayan De Oro City. Dito ako tumutuloy sa Nature’s Pension sa Divisoria. Yup, may Divisoria din dito at nuknukan din ng dami ng mga tindahan. Every Friday night & Saturday night, sarado ang kalye sa paligid ng plaza dahil kino-convert into booths of food, booze & ukay-ukay, with live band in the middle. Grabe puro ihaw-ihaw na tuna, bariles, marlin. Sarap! Konting consolation sa homesickness. Okidoks. Ingat po sa lahat and best wishes and regards to everyone.
Larry would also like to share this food for thought that he found on the internet:
Who are your real friends?
FAKE FRIENDS: Never ask for food.
REAL FRIENDS: Are the reason you have no food.
FAKE FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr/Mrs
REAL FRIENDS: Call your parents Dad/Mom
FAKE FRIENDS: Never seen you cry
REAL FRIENDS: Cry with you
FAKE FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back
REAL FRIENDS: Keep your stuff so long they forget it’s yours
FAKE FRIENDS: Know a few things about you
REAL FRIENDS: Could write a book about you with direct quotes from you
FAKE FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that is what the crowd is doing
REAL FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowds butt that left you
FAKE FRIENDS: Would knock on your front door
REAL FRIENDS: Walk right in and say “I’m home!”
FAKE FRIENDS: Are for awhile
REAL FRIENDS: Are for life
